Celebrating Children’s Health Day at safety village near Hanover
The Grey-Bruce Community Safety and Well-Being Plan community partners invite families to gather for a Children’s Health Day, Saturday, June 7, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at the Saugeen Valley Children’s Safety Village,  261101 Grey County Road 28, Hanover.

This will be a fun, engaging event, focused on safety, wellness, and community connections.

Children’s Health Day will feature a foam party, exciting Touch-a-Truck experiences, and interactive fire, road and farm safety demonstrations. The day is designed to highlight the overall health and well-being of children, while giving families access to valuable local resources and supports.

Local service providers focused on youth mental and physical health, will be on-site offering information and activities to help families learn more about keeping kids and themselves safe, healthy, and supported.

Children will also receive a Passport of Discovery, encouraging them to explore the event and collect stickers from each booth, with door prizes drawn throughout the day.

This event is free and open to youth and families looking to have fun while learning more about how to support the safety and wellness of children in our communities.

What is the Community Safety and Well-Being Plan (CSWBP) Grey-Bruce?

The Community Safety and Well-Being Plan helps organizations improve the things that keep us healthy, happy, and safe. Together, we use research to create solutions focused on education, health care, food, housing, income, crime, and belonging. It is important that we create a welcoming community where problems are solved before they happen and where different professionals and community members work together to help people now and in the future.

The ongoing work of this group is supported by an advisory committee representing almost 75 partners from across Bruce and Grey counties who are working together to address crime prevention by investing in social development, prevention, and risk interventions. This upstream preventative model focuses on creating protective factors that make individuals less vulnerable to crime and victimization.
