Individual arrested after barricaded inside residence in Chesley
(CHESLEY, ON) - June 7, at approximately 3 p.m., the South Bruce OPP,, West Region OPP Emergency Response Team, Crisis Negotiators, and West Region OPP Canine Unit responded to a disturbance call at an address on 1st Avenue North in Chesley.
Police attended the scene where an individual was barricaded inside a residence. In the interest of public safety, a perimeter was established and the area was cordoned off.
June 8, at approximately 1 a.m., the individual was placed under arrest, without incident or injury.
As a result of the investigation, Derek SEIP, is charged under the Criminal Code with the following:
- Uttering Threats - cause death or bodily harm (two counts)
- Mischief - destroys or damages property
- Fail to comply with probation order
The accused has been placed into custody, pending a bail hearing.
The incident has been resolved, and all resources are clear of the scene. There was no threat to public safety.
