Arrest made in thefts in Lucknow and near Grand Bend
(GODERICH, ON) - A resident of Huron-Kinloss Township has been arrested in relation to two separate break-ins that occurred in Huron-Kinloss and the Municipality of South Huron.
Feb. 14, the Huron County OPP received the report of a break-and-enter to a construction site along B Line outside of Grand Bend, where a quantity of appliances and equipment was stolen.
March 17, the South Bruce OPP received the report of a break-and-enter to a series of storage units at an event grounds property along Walter Street in Lucknow, where a quantity of electrical equipment was stolen.
Through an investigation, conducted by the Huron-Perth Community Street Crime Unit, a search warrant was executed at a storage facility in Goderich, June 10, and stolen items from the aforementioned break-ins were recovered.
As a result of the investigation, Matthew PRITCHARD, 40, of Huron-Kinloss has been charged with:
- Break, enter a place - commit indictable offence, CC 348(1)(b)
- Possession of property obtained by crime, CC 354(1)(a) - four counts
The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody.
All seized property has been returned to the rightful owners.
