Storm rains on Kincardine Pride Parade

Storm rains on Kincardine Pride Parade
It was a beautiful, sunny Saturday morning, as a great crowd gathered for the Kincardine Pride Parade.

Hundreds marched in the parade as it left the Sutton Park Mall plaza, making its way along Broadway to Queen Street, and through downtown Kincardine to Victoria Park.

About halfway through the downtown, a storm hit and heavy rain poured down, along with high wind, thunder and lightning.

This didn’t dampen the spirit of those marching in the parade, or the hundreds watching from the sidelines. In fact, many just danced in the rain and made the best of it.

The parade was led by various pipers and drummers, including members of the Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band, followed by community groups and organizations, churches and businesses, politicians and unions, all sporting bright rainbow colours.

Despite the rain, people gathered in Victoria Park to show support for the 2SLGBTQIA-plus community, and to enjoy several activities, including the Kid Zone, children’s games, and a delicious barbecue put on by the Kincardine Lions Club.
