It was a hot, sultry, windy evening, as the Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band formed up along Durham Market North, Kincardine, for the first Saturday Night Parade of the summer.
However, this year, the band enjoyed better weather than last year when the first parade was hit by rain and a tornado warning; and the pipers and drummers fared much better than the drenched Pride Parade earlier in the day.
Hundreds of people lined downtown Kincardine, while others marched behind the band, as it made its way along Queen Street to Quinn Plaza and back to Victoria Park for a brief concert.
Andrew Klarer of Port Elgin has joined the band and was marching in his first parade Saturday night. He learned to play the pipes from Joan McIntosh, also a member of the band.
The Saturday Night Parades are a marvellously-unique tradition in Kincardine, that continue every Saturday at 8 p.m., throughout the summer.
