Kincardine Air Cadets welcome new commanding officer, Captain Patricia Coulter
The Kincardine Air Cadets have a new commanding officer, Captain Patricia Coulter, who has taken over from Captain Richard Miller.
A Change of Command ceremony was held at the Kincardine Legion, Monday, June 16, with Major Bill Dobson of CFB Borden conducting the official duties.
Coulter began as a cadet at 2923 Royal Canadian Army Cadets in Huron Park, in the fall of 1991. Once she aged out in 1998, she took a year off and in May of 1999, joined the cadet instructor cadre.
She attended summer training centres in Blackdown, Ontario, and Whitehorse, Yukon, in various positions, including administration, platoon commander, physical and recreation trainer, First Aid instructor, second in command of introductory courses, officer in command of introductory to fitness and sports, and on-line officer trainer for cyber security from 1999-2010, 2015, 2018 and 2021.
Coulter has worked with many cadet units, in Whitecourt, Alberta; Exeter, Clinton, Brussels, and Kincardine.
Throughout her career, she has obtained many leadership qualifications, as well as some specialized ones in orienteering, range safety officer, and basic canoe instructor.
As she is a certified dance instructor, she brings a unique leadership approach to the cadet program.
Coulter received her CD1 medal in 2023, recognizing 22 years of service with good conduct.
Squadron 183, Kincardine, welcomes her as the new commanding officer.
