South Bruce OPP report dirt bike recovered; thief arrested; and several stunt-driving charges
POLICE RECOVER STOLEN DIRT BIKE

(BROCKTON, ON) - The South Bruce OPP has recovered a dirt bike which was stolen June 11, at a residence in the area of McGivern Street West and Griffith Street in Walkerton.

At that time, a Polaris ATV and a KTM dirt bike were taken after someone broke into the garage of the residence.

June 22, an officer on patrol located the stolen dirt bike at an address along Concession 2 SDR in the Municipality of Brockton. An individual was taken into custody and the dirt bike was recovered.

Jason BESTER, 47, of the Municipality of Brockton has been charged with Possession of property obtained by crime, CC 354(1)(a).

The accused is set to appear in the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice, July 16, to answer to the charge.

Police are still searching for the following outstanding vehicle, a white 2014 Polaris Sportsman 570 all-terrain vehicle (ATV), bearing Ontario plate #6ZP65.

YOUTH ARRESTED AFTER BREAK-IN

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) - June 20, at approximately 9 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a break-and-enter at a property along Bruce County Road 17, Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.

Police attended the location and found that the property had been entered, and several bottles of alcohol were taken. The suspect, who was still on scene, was placed under arrest, without incident. The individual was additionally charged with a nearby theft from a vehicle.

A 16-year-old resident of Arran-Elderslie has been charged with:
 
  • Break, enter a place - commit indictable offence, CC 348(1)(b)
  • Theft under $5000, CC 334(b) - two counts

The accused has been released from police custody and is set to appear at the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

The youth's identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

POLICE LAY MULTIPLE STUNT-DRIVING CHARGES

(SOUTHERN BRUCE COUNTY, ON) - The South Bruce OPP charged three motorists with stunt-driving on the weekend:
 
  • June 20, at 7:22 p.m., a vehicle was stopped for travelling in excess of 130 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone along Bruce County Road 20, Municipality of Kincardine.
  • June 21, at approximately 10 p.m., a vehicle was stopped for travelling in excess of 130 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone along Highway 21, Municipality of Kincardine.
  • June 22, at 12:27 p.m., a vehicle was stopped for travelling in excess of 130 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone along Bruce County Road 10, Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.

A 24-year-old of New Brunswick, a 23-year-old of Kitchener, and a 50-year-old of Kanata were each charged with Drive motor vehicle - perform stunt, contrary to Section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.

Anyone charged with stunt-driving receives a 14-day vehicle impoundment and a 30-day driver's licence suspension.
