​Registration open for NII’s second annual Clean Energy Frontier conference

How can regional strengths turn into national solutions for energy security, workforce development and made-in-Canada innovation? Can clean energy be a force to connect communities, strengthen supply chains and power a more resilient future?

The Nuclear Innovation Institute (NII) is asking all this and more at the second-annual Clean Energy Frontier conference this fall.

Sponsored by Bruce Power, the conference is an opportunity for participants to dive into the theme “Securing the Future”, exploring energy-related initiatives and nation building that begins right here in the Clean Energy Frontier region.

Beginning the afternoon of Tuesday, Oct. 21, with interactive workshops on the major trends shaping this region, the event continues for a full day of sessions, Wednesday, Oct. 22.

Highlights include:
 

• Hands-on workshops bringing together voices from across sectors to explore regional growth through three key themes: addressing challenges such as housing, mental health and others; exploring the potential economic impact of the proposed Bruce “C” project; and understanding how to engage young people in conversations about the region’s future workforce
• A Day 2 keynote address from Bruce Power president and chief executive officer (CEO) Eric Chassard
• Sessions on the made-in-Canada uranium value chain, workforce trends from the electricity sector, regional opportunities in medical isotopes, and more
• Networking with industry leaders, innovators and local experts engaged in the region’s clean energy landscape

The event will take place at the NII Advance Technology Campus, 117 Farrell Drive, Tiverton — located in the Bruce Energy Centre, across from the Bruce Power Visitors’ Centre.
