Brian Hooey of Tiverton dies at the age of 65
Brian Carl Hooey of Tiverton died Sunday, June 29, 2025, with his wife and son by his side, after a very long fight to stay with them. He was 65.

Born July 2, 1959, in Kincardine, he was the son of Carl and Betty Hooey.

Beloved husband of Kathie, dear father of Brandon, Allison, and Kimberly, and stepfather of Bill and Mark. Brian will be missed by his uncle and aunt, Nate and Joyce Brown.

His younger years were spent proudly farming side-by-side with his father, Carl, on the family farm in Ripley. Brian was a boilermaker with Local 128, Burlington, for 35 years.

A special thanks to Terrance for his constant support, knowledge, hospital visits, phone calls and texts; to Laura for her care, humour, and support; Father Bill and the congregation of St. Johns Church, London, for their prayers and support; the doctors and nurses at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine, for their care of Brian; and finally, to family and friends for all your support. Thank you!

Private services will be held with a celebration of life in September. Details will be announced, when available.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Ronald McDonald House – Southwestern Ontario, or support SOS Tractor Pulling in Brian’s memory, in place of flowers, would be appreciated by the family.

Donations and condolences may be made on-line at www.daveylinklaterfuneralhome.com.

Every night in my dreams
I see you, I feel you
That is how I know you go on
Far across the distance
And spaces between us
You have come to show you go on
Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more, you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on
Love can touch us one time
And last for a lifetime
And never let go 'til we're gone
Love was when I loved you
One true time I'd hold to
In my life, we'll always go on
Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on (why does the heart go on?)
Once more, you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on
You're here, there's nothing I fear
And I know that my heart will go on
We'll stay forever this way
You are safe in my heart and
My heart will go on and on
