South Bruce OPP report impaired drivers; mischief; and hit-and-run
COLLISION LEADS TO ARREST

(BROCKTON, ON) - July 11, at 1:03 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a motor vehicle collision on Yonge Street South at Highway 9, in Walkerton.

Police attended and discovered that a vehicle had struck a light standard. The driver was transported to local hospital with minor injuries. The investigating officer attended the hospital and detected signs of impairment.

As a result of the investigation, Leobardo SANCHEZ SANCHEZ, 28, of the Municipality of South Bruce, was charged with Operation while impaired - B.A.C. 80-plus, CC 320.14(1)(b).

The accused is set to appear Aug. 24, at the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice to answer to the charge.

TRAFFIC STOP RESULTS IN IMPAIRED CHARGE

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) - July 12, at 10:49 p.m., a member of the South Bruce OPP stopped to check a vehicle along Bruce County Road 3, outside of Paisley.

The investigating officer detected signs of impairment. The driver was taken into custody and transported for further testing.

Leslie JANEIRO, 42, of Kincardine, was charged with Operation while impaired - B.A.C. (80-plus), CC 320.14(1)(b).

The accused is set to appear Aug. 27, at the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice to answer to the charge.

DAMAGE TO BALL DIAMOND LEADS TO CHARGES

(BROCKTON, ON) - July 12, at 8:31 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of overnight damages to the ball diamonds in Chepstow.

Police attended and discovered that a pick-up truck and an Off-Road Vehicle were at the ball diamonds the previous evening, drove through the grass and spun tires, causing damages to the area.

As a result of the investigation, two individuals face charges.

Cory HARRON, 18, of Brockton was charged with Mischief - destroys or damages property, CC 430(1)(a).

A 17-year-old resident of Brockton was charged with:
 
  • Mischief - destroys or damages property, CC 430(1)(a)
  • Dangerous operation, CC 320.13(1)
  • Obstruct peace officer, CC 129(a)

The youth's identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The accused are set to appear Sept. 3, at the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice to answer to the charges.

FAIL-TO-REMAIN COLLISION OUTSIDE WALKERTON

(BROCKTON, ON) - July 16, at approximately 2:55 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a collision, involving two vehicles, at the intersection of Concession 2 and Sideroad 5, Greenock Township, just west of Walkerton.

Two occupants from an involved vehicle fled the scene on foot.

Police are searching for two females, late 20s/early 30s, both with brown hair, carrying green reusable grocery bags.
