Cory and Brittany Hamilton purchase Fincher’s in downtown Kincardine
If you were upset at the prospect of losing the Fincher’s store in downtown Kincardine, you’ll be excited to hear that Cory and Brittany Hamilton of Kincardine have purchased the building and inventory and plan to continue its legacy.
Dawn and Tom Fincher have owned and operated the book, toy and gift shop in Kincardine for 40 years and upon retirement, were planning to close the store at the end of the summer. Their store in Goderich is slated to close at the end of the year.
In a Facebook post, the Finchers announced the change of ownership, noting that their final day of business will be Saturday, Aug. 30.
“Many of you will know Brittany as the owner/operator of Littles by the Lake (also in downtown Kincardine),” state the Finchers. “She will continue to offer many of the great products and customer service you’ve come to love at Fincher’s. We wish Brittany and Cory much success in this new chapter and look forward to seeing their vision come to life! Thank you for your continued support over the years.”
Cory Hamilton, a local realtor, said he and Brittany are excited about this opportunity to continue the Fincher’s legacy in Kincardine. They plan to make some minor changes but the store will run the same as it has for decades.
“We have some great ideas, including a new name which will be announced in a week or two,” he said. “We’re looking forward to this exciting new chapter in our lives!”
