Bruce Power continues scholarships for Early Childhood Education students
Bruce Power is offering scholarships for Early Childhood Education (ECE) students for the third consecutive year, reinforcing its commitment to addressing the shortage of child-care professionals in Bruce County and ensuring access to quality child-care services.
“Access to child care is crucial for workforce participation and plays a key role in economic growth,” said Karen Smith, vice-president and chief human resources officer at Bruce Power.
“By investing in future childhood educators, we are strengthening our communities and addressing a growing need for qualified child-care professionals in the region.”
To date, Bruce Power has awarded 34 ECE scholarships to help offset the costs of certification, and is continuing the program in 2025.
To be eligible for the Bruce Power ECE scholarship, applicants must:
Applicants can submit their application, essay, and proof of registration as soon as they are registered, until Sept. 30. Scholarships will be awarded by Oct. 31.
Eligible Bruce County residents may also apply for county funding to cover 50 per cent of tuition costs.
Students with a related diploma, degree, or work experience can apply to fast-track their course completion. They can also apply to be exempt from course placement requirements if they are currently working in a licensed child-care program or have experience that meets the program’s placement and learning goals.
