Chatham’s 3 Tenors return to Knox Church, Kincardine, Sept. 6
Following a well-received concert in 2024, Chatham’s 3 Tenors will be returning to Knox Presbyterian Church, Kincardine, for a performance, Saturday, Sept. 6, at 7 p.m.
Andrew Derynck, Colin Bell and Xander Bechard trace their musical roots back to their high school years in Chatham, but these days, their musical endeavours take them not only around southwestern Ontario but right across Canada.
Derynck’s “creamy and luscious voice” is familiar as he has premiered a number of roles in new operas Canada-wide. When he’s not singing, he can be found working on his family farm. In response to the question, what does he do for work, he often responds with, “I scream pretty and I play in the dirt.”
Bell studied music at the University of British Columbia and has performed on a concert tour in Germany and the Czech Republic.
Bechard studied music at Wilfrid Laurier University and while encouraging new talent as a private voice instructor, has performed in many musicals across southwestern Ontario.
The trio’s passion for music and rich vocal harmonies is supported and enhanced by the skills of its equally-talented pianist, Devon Hansen.
Chatham’s 3 Tenors cover a wide range of classical and contemporary songs, including “You Raise Me Up,” “The Prayer,” “30,000 Feet,” and “E lucevan le stelle.”
Tickets for the concert are $25 each; available at Knox Church (345 Durham St.) weekdays, from 9 a.m. to Noon, or call 519-396-2311; from The Loop in downtown Kincardine; or at the door.
As part of Knox Church’s ongoing commitment to community service, throughout 2025 the church will provide supporting donations to much-needed local and county-wide organizations, such as the Kincardine Food Bank, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Women’s House Serving Bruce and Grey, and the United Way Backpack Program.
