Another hot week and lots of combines in the fields working on the wheat harvest. What great summer weather we are having!

Catching up on birthdays: Happy 50th Birthday to Peggy Farrell! Also best birthday wishes to Bernice Courtney, Kendall Cubberley and Reine de Gans!

Jim and Fran Farrell attended Joe West's 70th birthday party with family and friends in Stratford last Saturday.

Best wishes also to couples celebrating their wedding anniversaries: Bernice and Carman Courtney on their 45th anniversary, and Bev and Joe Fry on their 40th anniversary; as well as Reine and Ron de Gans, Jerry and Kay Logtenberg, Glen and Sarah Farrell, Mary and Wayne Galliher and Ken and Caitlin Harris!

Thanks to the Ripley-Huron Fire Department for a wonderful breakfast last weekend! There was lots of great visiting done there too!

Jim and Fran Farrell attended the memorial service for Della Grice in Mississauga, Thursday, and visited with friends, Brenda and Douglas Anderson. Brenda and Fran were roommates at the University of Guelph. Brenda and Douglas live in Nanaimo, British Columbia.

Congratulations to the organizers of the Marine Heritage Festival in Southampton on the weekend.  Great music, great food, Chantry Lighthouse adventures, displays and exhibits from the Bruce County Museum, artisans, studies of the great lakes, sailboat parades, road hockey and 65 entries in the cardboard boat races - lots of fun for everyone!
