Quebec prison escapee apprehended, public alert cancelled
(SOUTHERN BRUCE COUNTY, ON) - The escapee from a Quebec correctional institution has been recaptured in Montreal.
July 6, the OPP was notified of an escapee from a Quebec correctional institution. The Surete du Quebec Police Service advised that July 5, an inmate convicted in 1992 of murder, had escaped from the Archambault Incarceration Centre in the Province of Quebec.
Out of an abundance of caution, an alert about the escapee had been distributed due to possible community ties to southwestern Ontario, specifically Bruce County and Hanover areas.
The wanted man has since been apprehended by police in Montreal. The alert is now cancelled.
The South Bruce OPP is requesting anyone with information to call 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit a secure web-tip at
