Hive ‘n Hoe Country Store hosts Customer Appreciation Day
Guy and Gail Anderson and their family of the Lazy J Ranch didn’t let a closed road and water service interruption stop them from hosting their annual Customer Appreciation Day, Thursday, at the Hive ‘n Hoe Country Store on Kincardine Avenue in Kincardine.

A good crowd managed to find the store, even though the road was closed at Highway 21, and the Municipality of Kincardine had shut off the water to fix a watermain in the Willow West subdivision, just west of the store.

People enjoyed checking out the fresh produce and flowers, as well as the many products in the store, including homemade jam and jelly, the famous Lazy J Ranch honey, and a vast assortment of local products and craft items.

Outside, there were local vendors, including The Daily Grind; Sundae Drift; Mark Snowden of Feige’s Gourmet Dressings of Listowel offering samples of salads, chip dip, and marinated chicken; and Cassondra Wilson of Slab Lab Studio (pottery-painting). And you could get a glass of cold lemonade or iced tea, made with honey, at the Lazy J Ranch trailer.

Wilson is hosting a Paint Your Own Pottery session, Aug. 14, from 5-8 p.m., at Littles By the Lake in downtown Kincardine. Limited seating is available, so book early on her Instagram page or contact her at slablabstudio@outlook.com.

The Hive ‘n Hoe Country Store is located at 678 Kincardine Avenue in Kincardine, and is open Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 519-396-3529 or check the website at www.anderkin.ca/country-store/.
