Bervie W.I. tours Bruce Botanical Food Gardens in Ripley
The Bervie Women’s Institute met at the Bervie United Church, Wednesday morning. Convener Brenda Ramsdale welcomed everyone and the usual openings took place.

Six members answered the Roll Call which was “Name your favourite vegetable.” Many of our members are away or busy today. Sandra MacDonald gave the Sunshine report.

The ladies then travelled to the Bruce Botanical Food Gardens in Ripley where they toured the gardens and learned their history. This is a productive and busy place with many volunteers helping out.

Upon arriving back at Bervie, Betty Jean White read the minutes and Islay Eby gave the treasurer’s report. Betty Anne Thompson will look after the display for the Kincardine Fall Fair, Aug. 30.

Delicious snacks were provided by Brenda and Betty Jean.

The next meeting will be held, Thursday, Sept. 4, at 7 p.m. (note change of date and it’s in the evening), at the church, with Dr. Deller-Quinn talking about dentistry in Sri Lanka.
