Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band set to host 34th annual Massed Band event, Aug. 23
The Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band will host the 34th annual Massed Band event, Saturday afternoon, Aug. 23, in Victoria Park, Kincardine.
The event begins at Noon and runs through to the evening, and admission is free, with all-you-can-eat hot dogs and corn-on-the-cob for $15/person, until 6:30 p.m.
Since 1992, pipe band has welcomed pipers and drummers, as well as the community, visitors and tourists, to take part in this annual Massed Band event. It’s the band’s way of thanking everyone for the support over the many years.
Norm Gauthier returns as MC for the afternoon which features the following, from Noon to 6 p.m.:
- Kincardine Community Concert Band
- Toronto All-Star Big Band
- Teeswater Highlanders Pipe Band
- Clinton Legion Pipes and Drums
- Ingersoll Pipe Band
- Sarnia Legion Pipe Band
- Eliza Jane Band
The Massed Band will gather on Durham Market North and, at 8 p.m., march through downtown Kincardine to Quinn Plaza, and back to Victoria Park for a concert. Keep your eyes open as Kincardine has the distinction of having a few champion pipers and drummers play through their ranks and you may catch them having some fun there!
