South Bruce OPP arrest two impaired drivers
COLLISION RESULTS IN ARREST

(MUNICIPALITY OF SOUTH BRUCE, ON) - Aug. 9, at 1:07 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a collision along Bruce County Road 28 in the Municipality of South Bruce.

Police attended and discovered a debris field, but the involved vehicle failed to remain. Shortly thereafter, police received the report of another collision along Huron Bruce Road, east of Belmore. A heavily-damaged vehicle was observed by police. The investigating officer spoke with the involved driver and detected signs of impairment; the driver was taken into custody and transported to undergo further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Jeffrey VANDER HOUT, 40, of Stratford, was charged with Operation while impaired - B.A.C. 80-plus, CC 320.14(1)(b).

The accused is set to appear Sept. 24, at the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice to answer to the charges.

DRIVER ARRESTED AFTER VEHICLE HITS HYDRO POLE

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) - Aug. 11, at 3:58 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a collision along Sideroad 5 Elderslie, in the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.

Police attended and observed a single vehicle collision involving a hydro pole. The investigating officer spoke to the driver and detected signs of impairment. The driver was placed under arrest and transported for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Andrew PANTLIN, 45, of the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie, was charged with:
 
  • Operation while impaired - B.A.C. 80-plus, CC 320.14(1)(b)
  • Dangerous operation, CC 320.13(1)

The accused is set to appear Sept. 10, at the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice to answer to the charges.
