It’s great fun for the whole family.
The Town of Kincardine was founded in 1848 as “Penetangore.” Four years later, in 1852, the first Kincardine Fall Fair was held in Connaught Park which became its home.
The fair was originally considered to be on the edge of town and agriculture was the largest employer and business sector in the area. Today, the fairgrounds sit in the core of the town, and agriculture is now the second largest industry, surpassed only by the energy sector, and followed by tourism.
Thanks to the many dedicated community members, businesses and volunteers now and over many years, the fair has continued to bring agriculture to a growing community of people, many of whom have no first-hand knowledge of what agriculture and farming are all about. The Kincardine Agricultural Society continues to educate, creating an understanding of how food gets to our table, and how farming has always been climate-aware, environmentally-sustainable, and good stewardship of the land.
The agricultural society is seeking applicants to fill the role of Kincardine Fall Fair ambassador. If you are interested or know a young adult, aged 17-25, whom you would like to nominate, submit an E-mail to
kincardinefallfair@gmail.com or call Anne at 519-386-5898 (nominees will be asked if they will accept the nomination). Applicants are also sought for the junior fall fair ambassador which is open to youth, aged 11-14. For more information about the ambassador program,
