Open-air fire ban lifted in Huron-Kinloss and Brockton
With the recent and ongoing rainfall, the Huron-Kinloss and Brockton have lifted the bans on open-air burning for their fire service areas.
Huron-Kinloss reminds residents to report open-air burns as per the instructions on the permit so that the appropriate fire department is aware of the burn to prevent any unnecessary fire calls. Residents and visitors should always exercise caution with outdoor fires at all times. For further information, contact the township at 519-395-3735.
In Brockton, the chief fire official lifted the partial open-air burn ban as of 8:30 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 20. The ban was issued Aug. 11 due to extreme temperatures and a lack of rainfall. Agricultural, brush, and derelict building burn permits can now resume. Recreational fires (for cooking and warmth) can also continue, in compliance with Brockton’s open-air burn bylaw.
