Concerned citizen reports impaired driver in Walkerton
(BROCKTON, ON) - Aug. 19, at 7:43 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received a traffic complaint about a possible impaired driver in Walkerton.
Police made patrols and located the vehicle on Yonge Street South, where a traffic stop was conducted. The investigating officer spoke with the driver and detected signs of impairment. The driver was placed under arrest and transported for further testing.
Emmett UDERSTADT, 18, of West Grey, was charged with:
- Operation while impaired - B.A.C. 80-plus, CC 320.14(1)(b)
- Dangerous operation, CC 320.13(1)
- Novice driver - B.A.C. above zero, HTA 44.1(3)
- Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor, LLCA 42(1)(a)
The accused is set to appear Sept. 24, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton, to answer to the charges.
