Huron-Bruce Kidney Walk raises $27,000
The fifth annual Huron-Bruce Kidney Walk has raised $27,053.65 in support of the Kidney Foundation.

Held Sunday morning at Station Beach, Kincardine, the event welcomed two new teams, Team Sipione, and Maizy and The Nephromaniacs. They joined the steadfast Crew of Kincardine and Ripley, led by organizer Cathy Pennington, which raised $21,042 on its own.

“My heart is so full today,” said Pennington. “What a truly wonderful day at the Huron-Bruce Kidney Walk. To our new teams – you’ve given me hope and energy in ways I can’t even describe. For 10 years, I have dreamed of creating a true Kidney Community, and today, I saw that dream coming to life. Thank you to everyone who walked, donated, cheered, and supported. You are the heart of this cause. Here’s to hope, community!”

Pennington was also thrilled with the incredible response to the on-line auction, held in August, which raised $6,457 for the Huron-Bruce Kidney Walk.

“Thank you to everyone who donated, bid and supported this year’s event,” she said. “Your generosity and kindness mean so much, not just to me, but to every family impacted by kidney disease.”
