Family Farm Tour set for Sept. 27 to promote IPM 2026 in Bruce County
The Bruce County International Plowing Match (IPM) and Rural Expo 2026 committee has organized a Family Farm Tour to be held Sept. 27, in and around Walkerton, site of next year’s IPM.

“This is an exciting event that will allow people to meet a wide variety of animals, explore where your food comes from, and discover local agriculture with the spirit of Bruce County on full display,” says IPM chairman Gord Lang. “We have a great team of organizers, and we really appreciate all they are doing, as well as the seven local farm owners who are participating. Get your tickets early as we fully expect it to be a sold-out event!”

People will be able to tour 7 different farms, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and there will be a ‘Kids Activity’ program, beginning at 2 p.m., at the Chepstow Park, along with live music and a silent auction, followed by dinner from 4-7 p.m.

“We are truly grateful for the commitment of our local farm community, and we are looking forward to a fun and educational day,” says Lang.

Tickets for the farm tour are $30 per adult (includes six complimentary chicken wings); youth under age 16 are admitted FREE. Tickets are available at Home Hardware stores in Paisley, Walkerton and Mildmay, and at Essentially Lavender in Teeswater; as well as at local agriculture dealers: Huron Tractor in Walkerton, Equipment Ontario in Mildmay, Teeswater Agri Parts, Roberts Equipment in Chesley, B & L in Chesley, and Mullen’s Farm Service in Chepstow.

IPM 2026 planning and progress continue and there is a call for volunteers. If you are interested in getting involved in the farm tour or the biggest event in Bruce County in 2026, send an E-mail message to volunteers2026ipm@gmail.com or brucecountyipm@gmail.com or check out the website at www.plowingmatch.org/ipm2026. For general inquiries: admin2026ipm@gmail.com.
“New ideas are always welcome,” says Lang.

Everyone is welcome to the Family Farm Tour, Sept. 27; and remember to block Sept. 22-26, 2026, for the IPM and Rural Living Expo right here in beautiful Bruce County!
