Ann Finlayson, formerly of Ripley, remembered as a master gardener who loved peonies
Gloria "Ann" Barnes-Finlayson (Osburn) of Guelph, formerly of Ripley, died peacefully, with family at her side, Sept. 6, 2025.
Beloved wife of Edward Finlayson Sr. (2024).
Cherished mother of Jerrold (2024), Steven (Kim), Allyn, and Catherine (Kevin); stepmother of Edward Finlayson Jr. and Robert Finlayson (2023).
Loving grandmother of Heather (Ezra), Thomas (Violet), Kaitlyn, Tyler (Sia), and Danielle (Joel).
Dear sister of Ray (Sue, 2024) Osburn of Dundas, Beryl (Jim, 2013) Russell of St. Marys, Fred (Elaine) Osburn of Guelph, and Lloyd Osburn of Belwood; and stepbrother of Ron Welsh of Belwood.

Predeceased by her mother, Kathleen Osburn (Zarnke) (1974); father, Lloyd Osburn (2010); and stepmother, Vivienne Weitzel (2020).
Ann’s passions and accomplishments are numerous. She was a prominent member of the Ripley-Huron Legion, Ripley and District Horticultural Society, and Ripley Quilt Guild. She was a master gardener and loved peonies.

She will be deeply missed by all.
Interment, Belsyde Cemetery, Fergus, Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the
Heart and Stroke Foundation,
Ripley-Huron Legion, Ripley Quilt Guild,
Ripley and District Horticultural Society, or a charity of your choice, would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
A celebration of life will be held at the Ripley-Huron Legion at a later date.
