​Ripley-Huron Fall Fair features plenty of activities ‘Til the Cows Come Home

The 162nd Ripley-Huron Fall Fair is coming up this weekend and there are activities galore scheduled for the weekend, from Sept. 26-27, under the theme, “’Til the Cows Come Home.”

The fair actually begins Thursday, Sept. 25, with a teen dance from 7-9 p.m., to DJ Yudel.

Friday, Sept. 26, the events include Bingo at Rosewood RVilla at 10:30 a.m., the frog-jumping contest at 7 p.m., nail-driving and log-sawing from 7-9 p.m., Kinetic Knights Robotics from 5-9 p.m., Ripley Wolves puck and shoot station from 6-8:30 p.m., Stone Boat Pullers garden tractor pull from 6-9 p.m., and the ambassador program at 8 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 27, features the 4-H beef, sheep and light-horse shows from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.,; throughout the afternoon: the car show, laser combat, reptile exhibit, dunk tank, axe-throwing, Snippity the Clown, Paw Patrol and Princess Peach Mascots, pipe bands, the Magic of Danny Hamill, the Super Dog Show, and FMX Shows.

The fair wraps up with a dance to the “Weekend Never Ends Band” and “Adam Cousins,” from 7 p.m. to Midnight.

The highlight of Saturday is the Mammoth Parade at 11:30 p.m. The parade lines up at the south end of the village and marches to the fairgrounds.

All weekend, there are the midway, exhibits in the hall, Greg Balch Wildlife, food trucks, and the refreshment tent (admission is $10).

Come enjoy the friendly fall fair in the country. Gate admission is $10 per person/day; children, age five and under, admitted free. The fair runs Friday, 5 p.m. to Midnight; and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 a.m.
