OWNER FACES CRIMINAL CHARGES FOLLOWING DOG ATTACK

(GODERICH, ON) - The Huron County OPP has charged a Goderich resident with a criminal offence, following a recent investigation in the Town of Goderich.

Aug. 3, 2024, the Huron OPP investigated a dog attack that had taken place on Gibbons Street in Goderich. A pedestrian walking dogs was attacked by two dogs that were not secured on a nearby property. The pedestrian was injured, requiring medical attention, and one of the injured person’s dogs was killed in the attack. The dog owner was charged with an offence found in the Dog Owner Liability Act.

July 29, the Huron OPP investigated another dog attack that took place in the same area by the same dogs. In this incident, the victim was on a mobility scooter walking a dog. The victim received injuries from the dog attack.

As a result of the investigation, Kendra BRALL, 36, of Goderich has been charged with Criminal Negligence - Cause Bodily Harm.

The accused was arrested, processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich, Oct. 6. The accused’s dogs remain with the accused pending the results of a Dog Owner Liability Act court hearing.

COLLISION INVESTIGATION RESULTS IN IMPAIRED DRIVING, MISCHIEF CHARGES

(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH TWP, ON) - The Huron County OPP has charged an Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Township resident with criminal offences, following a collision investigation in township.

Wednesday, Sept. 10, just after 7 p.m., Huron County OPP officers responded to the report of a collision involving a pick-up truck and an off-road vehicle on River Mill Line near Nile Road.

While at the scene, police observed an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) attend the location. The ATV driver had consumed alcohol prior to operating the machine, and was subsequently arrested for impaired operation. During transport and lodging, the accused damaged the police cruiser and cell area.

Ashton CLEMENTS, 26, of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has been charged with:
 
  • Impaired Operation - Over-80
  • Mischief to Property Under $5,000

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich, Oct. 20.

COLLISION RESULTS IN SEVERAL CRIMINAL DRIVING CHARGES

(BLUEWATER, ON) - The Huron County OPP has charged a Goderich resident with several criminal driving offences, following a collision in the Municipality of Bluewater.

Saturday, Sept. 13, at 11:30 a.m., Huron County OPP officers responded to the report of a single-vehicle collision, with the vehicle ending up in a ditch on Goshen Line in Bluewater. Police attended the scene and located the driver who was arrested for impaired operation and dangerous driving.

The driver was transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton and provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilizer Breath Technician. Breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over twice the legal limit.

Adam CHILTON, 42, of Goderich has been charged with:
 
  • Dangerous Operation
  • Impaired Operation - Alcohol and Drug
  • Impaired Operation – Over-80

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. The accused's driver's licence was suspended for a period of 90 days. The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich, Oct. 20.

GPS TRACKING DEVICE LEADS OPP TO STOLEN GOLF CART

(GODERICH, ON) - The Huron County OPP has charged a Goderich resident with a criminal offence, following a report to police involving a stolen golf cart that was affixed with a GPS tracking device.

Monday, Sept. 15, Huron County OPP officers received a report of the possible location of a stolen golf cart in the Town of Goderich. The golf cart owner reported the vehicle stolen two days previous, from a golf course property in Huron-Kinloss Township.

Officers attended the location of the GPS tracking device and spoke to an individual. A golf cart was located inside a trailer on the property and confirmed to be the same stolen golf cart. A suspect was arrested at the scene.

John BOURGEOIS, 59, of Goderich has been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich, Oct. 27.
