Peddie Fyke won $1,283 in this week’s Catch the Ace draw. She chose Envelope No. 39 which revealed the Jack of Clubs. Let’s see if we can push next week’s estimated jackpot to $25,500! At the Saturday Meat Draw, we had just one double-dipper. Congratulations to Lana Colley who won twice! The winner of the 50/50 Draw was Gary Goessel who took home $92. Congratulations to all the winners. If you are coming to this Saturday’s Meat Draw and have not renewed your Legion Membership for 2026 (or would like to join), our membership chairperson, Kim, will be available to help you get your renewal done. Be sure to take advantage of our Early Bird Legion rates, from now until Nov. 30 - memberships are $55, with a special $50 rate for veterans.

A huge thank-you to everyone who came to our annual Envelope Stuffing Day, Thursday and made quick order of stuffing envelopes for the 2025 Poppy Campaign. It’s true ... many hands make light work!

As a reminder, our Branch 183 Ceremonies of Remembrance will be held Sunday, Nov. 9, at 2 p.m. in Tiverton at Lions Memorial Park; and Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 10 a.m. at the Kincardine Legion, with the service inside the hall, followed by the placing of wreaths at the Cenotaph.

Many people have been enjoying the food we are providing before Bingo on Thursdays, with some people eating before they play and others just stopping in for dinner. For next week, Oct. 23, we will have Sausage on a Bun back on the menu for $6.

While we are on the topic of food, our next Family Dinner is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 23, and turkey will be on the menu. So be sure to save the date!

Lastly, we’ve got some news about our New Year’s Eve event with the Adam Cousins Band. Tickets will go on sale at the Legion Bar, beginning Nov. 12, after Remembrance Day. Tickets are $50 each for Legion members, and $60 each for non-members. This event sells out fast so be sure to get your tickets soon!
