Cyclist hit, vehicle flees the scene, north of Goderich
(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH TWP, ON) - The Huron County OPP is investigating a collision between a car and a cyclist, north of Goderich.
Wednesday, Oct. 15, just after 8 p.m., Huron County OPP officers responded to the report of a collision on Bluewater Veterans Highway, north of Airport Road. Police discovered that a 14-year-old cyclist had been hit by a vehicle that was travelling northbound on the highway. The driver failed to remain at the scene, and the vehicle sped off at a high rate of speed northbound.
The cyclist was transported to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police located a passenger mirror from the suspect vehicle at the scene. The mirror is dark grey in colour and is believed to be from a 2011 or 2012 model year automobile.
