South Bruce OPP report two impaired drivers
COLLISION RESULTS IN IMPAIRED CHARGE
(BROCKTON, ON) - Oct. 24, at 8:11 p.m., the South Bruce OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision along Highway 9, Municipality of Brockton.
Officers attended and located a pick-up truck which had entered the ditch. A roadside screening device was administered on the driver, resulting in a fail. The driver was taken into custody and transported for further testing.
Michael STEELE, 56, of Wilmot, was charged with Operation while impaired - B.A.C. 80-plus, CC 320.14(1)(b).
The accused is set to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton, Dec. 3, to answer to the charge.
ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL
(BROCKTON, ON) - Oct. 26, at approximately 8:50 p.m., the South Bruce OPP responded to a traffic hazard along Sideroad 30 N, south of Chesley.
Police were contacted by a concerned member of the public who discovered a recently-damaged vehicle stopped in a live lane, with the driver slouched over behind the wheel. Officers attended and made contact with the driver; police then detected signs of impairment. The driver was taken into custody and transported for further testing.
Dominic McGRAIL, 21, of Hanover, was charged with:
- Operation while impaired - B.A.C. 80+, CC 320.14(1)(b)
- Dangerous Operation, CC 320.13(1)
The accused is set to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton, Dec. 10, to answer to the charges.
