RE: "We should wish for others the nice neighbourhood we enjoy ourselves, says reader"
I am concerned that Jennifer Allen may not have a good understanding of the issues regarding the proposed building project on the corner of Kincardine Avenue and Fraser Drive.
Willow West is a very diverse neighbourhood in that there are big houses, small houses, semi-detached units and townhouses. People who live here include young families, single-parent families, single people, and retirees. Some work or have worked at Bruce Power and some have not.
Our objections about the building project centre around safety at the one and only entrance to our subdivision which is very busy at times. We also question the number of units being built on such a small lot. Some of the proposed units are close to lot lines, therefore, causing people to worry about property values being affected and also a loss of privacy in their outdoor space.
There never has been an attempt to exclude a certain group of people such as low-income earners.
There will be a meeting Wednesday, Jan. 20 (tomorrow) at 5 p.m. in the Kincardine council chamber, and if you could attend or have someone attend for you, I feel you would more fully understand the issues at hand.
