Rick Lehman of Kincardine remembered for his love of family, community, and the outdoors
Richard William Lehman of Kincardine, died Nov. 2, 2025, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 77.

Survived by his devoted wife, Mary; his loving daughters, Nicole (Chris) and Lindsay (Brett); and his cherished grandchildren, Simon, McCoy, and Oliver, who brought him endless joy, pride and nerf battles.

Rick also leaves behind his siblings, Tom (Diane), Mary Turner (Tom), Jenny Pearson (Jim Psutka), Paul (Linda), Michael (Mary-Ellen), and sister-in-law, Elaine; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents, Rudolph and Arilla (Straus) Lehman; and his brothers, Douglas and David.

Rick dedicated 31 years of his life to serving his community as a police officer with the Waterloo Regional Police, where his integrity, compassion, sense of humour, and strength earned the respect of those who knew him. He truly lived a life of service, always putting others before himself, continuing to volunteer and engage in his community throughout his life.

In retirement, he found happiness in the simple pleasures he loved most – his family, gardening, spending time outdoors, enjoying the peace of living by the lake, and sitting with his beloved dog, Stella. His gentle nature, humour, and unwavering kindness will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.

The family thanks the doctors, nurses and caregivers who supported Rick, with compassion, throughout his illness.

Rick’s legacy of love, service to his family and community, and his quiet strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 7, 2025, from 2-4 p.m., at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine.

A second visitation will be held Monday, Nov. 10, 2025, from 2-3:15 p.m., at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, with the memorial service at 3:30 p.m., and a reception to follow.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation would be appreciated.
