Kimberly Wingrove hired as interim CAO for Municipality of Kincardine
Kimberly Wingrove (above) has been hired as interim chief administrative officer (CAO) for the Municipality of Kincardine, effective Nov. 26. This comes after council accepted the resignation of Jillene Bellchamber-Glazier who will be leaving the municipality to become CAO of Thames Centre, near London.
That’s the word from the municipality in a press release issued Friday.
Wingrove, who was CAO of Grey County until stepping down in March, brings 20 years of experience working in the public sector. She is a strategic and results-driven municipal leader with a wealth of knowledge in administration, economic development and policy implementation.
“I look forward to working with mayor Kenneth Craig, council, and staff, to provide guidance and support to the Municipality of Kincardine during this period of transition,” she said.
The CAO’s job is to provide effective advice and support to council through the development and implementation of policy, strategy and objectives that address the needs of the municipality, as well as provide leadership to the management and staff of the municipality, directing the human, financial and physical resources, ensuring that council's directives are carried out.
“On behalf of council, I welcome Kimberly Wingrove to the Municipality of Kincardine,” said Craig. “We are pleased that she is willing to share her experience with both council and staff. We, like every other community, are working toward improving our municipal services and providing opportunities for continuous, sustainable growth and development. We look forward to her contributions and are confident that she will provide professional administrative leadership during this period of transition.
“I also extend my thanks and best wishes to Jillene Bellchamber-Glazier who has provided solid leadership, shared her wealth of municipal knowledge and has been instrumental in the success of the municipality during her tenure.”
The municipality will be engaging a recruiter immediately to start the search for a new permanent CAO.
