John Zoppi of Glammis remembered for his love of boating, fishing and spinning a yarn
John Zoppi of Glammis died, peacefully, Nov. 14, 2025, at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine, at the age of 62, following his struggle with ALS.
Survived by his wife, Shari MacDonald; sisters-in-law, Leith and Nanci MacDonald; uncle, Peter Zoppi; and his canine companion, Macie.
Remembered by many cousins, family, and friends.
John loved the water – being in it, or on it – swimming, boating, and fishing. He also loved to cook, feeding his family and friends while hanging out.
He was a rock-hound, and over the years, he faceted and cabbed many gemstones, some ending up as gifts of jewellery. He enjoyed animals and helping others and was known as generous, kind, and loyal.
John could spin yarn … “funny story…”
Predeceased by his parents, Bill and Joan Zoppi; aunt, Jenny Zoppi; and in-laws, Graham MacDonald and Dawn MacDonald.
A family celebration will take place next spring. An announcement will be made when details are available.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the ALS Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
