MISCHIEF TO GODERICH CHURCH RESULTS IN CHARGES

(GODERICH, ON) - The Huron County OPP has charged an individual, following an incident of mischief in the Town of Goderich.

Monday, Oct. 27, police were contacted to investigate damage to church property located on Victoria Street North in Goderich.

Police attended the scene and arrested the person responsible.

Stephanie ELLIOTT, 46, of no fixed address has been charged with:
 
  • Mischief Under $5,000
  • Fail to Comply with Probation

The accused was processed, held for a bail hearing, and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich, Nov. 24.

IMPAIRED DRIVER ARRESTED AFTER TRAFFIC STOP

(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH TWP, ON) - The Huron County OPP has charged a Huron-Kinloss Township resident with impaired driving offences, following a traffic stop in Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Township.

Just after 11:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 29, Huron County OPP officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Bluewater Veterans Highway in the township. The driver was, subsequently, arrested for impaired operation.

The accused provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilizer Breath Technician at the Huron County OPP detachment in Clinton. Breath samples provided to police resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Tyler DENHAM, 39, of Huron-Kinloss Twp. has been charged with:
 
  • Impaired Operation - Alcohol and Drug
  • Impaired Operation - Over-80

The accused was additionally charged with two offences found in the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).
The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused's driver's licence was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich, Nov. 24.

HURON OPP OFFICERS NOW HAVE BODY-WORN CAMERAS

(HURON COUNTY, ON) - The Huron County OPP is now equipped with body-worn cameras.

The OPP is committed to adopting tools and technologies that improve the quality of evidence, enhance accountability and transparency, and ultimately support the safety of both the public and officers in the communities we serve.

After a successful roll-out of in-car cameras, which incorporated an Automated Licence Plate Recognition system, the Huron OPP, along with other detachments within West Region, have implemented body-worn cameras for each individual uniform officer.



The cameras are worn on the front of the officer's vest and are clearly visible to anyone an officer may be interacting with. It will display a visible green ring with flashing lights when in stand-by mode, which will turn flashing red once the camera begins recording.
