Bluewater school board chairperson, vice-chairperson acclaimed for sixth term
The Bluewater District School Board's leadership remains unchanged, following annual trustee elections.

At the initial meeting of the board, Tuesday, trustees Jane Thomson (above) and Jan Johnstone (right) were acclaimed to their respective positions, as chairperson and vice-chairperson.

This is the sixth consecutive one-year term for both Thomson and Johnstone.

Thomson represents the Town of South Bruce Peninsula and Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula, while Johnstone's area of representation includes the Municipality of Kincardine and Township of Huron-Kinloss.

Both trustees are congratulated on their return to the executive roles in which they have faithfully served over the past several years. Their steady leadership and depth of experience continue to guide the board in upholding its mission of providing a quality educational experience for every student in a safe and inclusive environment.

Johnstone also continues to represent Bluewater at the provincial level through her long-standing involvement with the Ontario Public School Boards' Association, where she was elected as first vice-president in June.
