Kincardine Legion Corner
Louise Babbitt of Kincardine won $1,910 in the
Catch the Ace draw. She chose Envelope No. 15 which revealed the Seven of Hearts. Next Wednesday, the jackpot is estimated at more than $40,000! On behalf of the Kincardine Legion, Huron Shores Hospice, and the Tiverton Lions, we are so grateful to everyone who purchases tickets each week in support of our trilogy of charities. In case you are the type of person who looks ahead, and are wondering about Catch the Ace Draws near the holidays, there will be a draw on Christmas Eve (Dec. 24) and New Year’s Eve (Dec. 31).
At the
Saturday Meat Draw, we had two double-dippers, with Matt MacArthur and Heidi Allen both winning two prizes each. The winner of the 50/50 draw was Jane Bonnett who took home $120. Congratulations to all the winners. The Mega Meat Draw will be held Saturday, Dec. 13, with many turkeys to be won, and some fine music by Sweet Light Crude.
We want to
congratulate Jim McDonald, past-president of Branch 183, on his Ontario Veterans Award for Community Service Excellence. The award recognizes his meaningful contribution to our community. Comrade McDonald’s efforts with the Royal Canadian Legion and the Special Olympics have had a lasting impact.

We're excited to let you know about a new initiative we have started for this holiday season. The
Legion is collecting unique and often-overlooked items for the Kincardine Food Bank. Please help us go beyond the basics and fill the shelves with these items: feminine hygiene products, coffee/tea, diapers/pull-ups, rice, baby wipes, peanut butter, laundry soap/pods, dried pasta, dish soap, pasta sauce (meatless). Drop off your items in the big box in our Legion Hall lobby. If you are attending any of our coming events, that is a great time to bring some items along!
Thank you to everyone who donated to, and helped with, the annual Kincardine Legion Craft Show and Bake Sale last weekend. It went very well. This weekend, Sunday, Nov. 23, we have
Family Dinner, with turkey on the menu.
Speaking of donating,
Branch 183 recently made a $1,000 donation to the Silver Stick Tournament.
