Kincardine Yoga Fest proceeds donated to Wingham Hospital oncology department

Proceeds of the Kincardine Yoga Fest have been donated to the oncology department at the Wingham and District Hospital.

Darrel Perry of Penetangear and Eric Cunliffe of Shakti Rhythm Yoga, organizers of the annual event, presented $3,456 to the Wingham and District Hospital Foundation for the department.

First launched in 2016 as a grassroots initiative, Kincardine Yoga Fest combines wellness, yoga, and the natural beauty of Kincardine’s shoreline to raise funds for local charities. As in past years, every dollar raised is given back to the community.

This year the Wingham hospital foundation was chosen to help ensure local patients continue to have access to excellent cancer care closer to home.

“We are thrilled that this year’s yoga fest proceeds will go to a cause that has touched the lives of so many people,” said Perry.

“Supporting the Wingham and District Hospital Foundation allows us to blend our passion for yoga with giving back to the broader community,” said Cunliffe.

The 2025 Yoga Fest took place Aug. 8-10, with classes held along Kincardine’s picturesque north pier and in nearby parks. Participants and attendees were encouraged to make a freewill donation. The result of which was the generous gift to the foundation.

“We’re deeply grateful to Darrel Perry, Eric Cunliffe, and everyone who participated in the event,” said Nicole Duquette-Jutzi, executive director of the foundation. “Their generosity allows us to ensure the best possible equipment is in the hands of our skilled medical professionals when they are caring for patients who need it most.”
