Kincardine to host Municipal Matters session about changes to Blue Box recycling program
The Municipality of Kincardine is hosting its first Municipal Matters meeting, Tuesday, Dec. 2, from 8-9:30 a.m., at the Whitney Crawford Community Centre in Tiverton - an opportunity to connect directly with mayor Kenneth Craig and municipal staff about the issues that matter most in the community.
This inaugural session will focus on changes to the Blue Box recycling program, with a presentation by Mark O’Leary, manager of environmental services. Craig will also be in attendance to share updates, answer questions, and hear from local businesses and residents.
There will be a festive hot chocolate bar and treats while people connect and chat about the things that matter most to the community.
This event is open to all business owners and members of the public — Municipal Matters: what matters to you, matters to us.
Regarding changes to the recycling program, beginning Jan. 1, 2026, Ontario is shifting to a provincially-legislated Blue Box system which means the municipality will no longer operate the residential recycling program.
Eligible households will keep the same collection day and frequency, but you'll be able to recycle more than ever before - right at the curb.
