Catholic school board announces chairperson, vice-chairperson for 2025-26
The Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board has determined its leadership for 2025-26, announcing the re-election of trustee Lori Di Castri (above) as chairperson, and trustee Linda Strader (right) as vice-chairperson.

This leadership team’s consecutive election underscores the board's commitment to continuity and sustained progress. The continued guidance will ensure the board maintains momentum in delivering quality Catholic education and fostering robust connections with students, families, and communities across the region.

Di Castri, representing Kincardine, Huron-Kinloss and Brockton Ward 31, returns as chairperson, bringing proven leadership and an unwavering commitment to the values of Catholic education. Returning for another term, she is set to build upon the established strategic direction of the board, continuing to drive forward initiatives that benefit all students.

“I am proud and honoured to serve in the role of board chairperson, working alongside our educators, families, and community partners to ensure that our board schools remain places of growth and opportunity for all,” said Di Castri. “The entire board of trustees remains committed to being a connection between our communities and our schools.”

Strader, serving Brockton, Ward 34 and 36, is set to continue her vital work as vice-chairperson. Her dedication to student success and staff well-being will strengthen the board’s focus on collaboration, innovation, and a faith-based learning environment.

“It is a privilege to continue to serve as vice-chairperson and contribute to the important work of our board,” said Strader. “Together, we will continue to prioritize the needs of our students and staff, ensuring that our schools are places where faith and learning thrive.”

The board is ready to move forward, supported by the following dedicated members:

  • Bruce Muise (Owen Sound, Meaford, and the Blue Mountain)
  • Beverley Eckensweiler (Municipality of South Bruce)
  • Lucie Desbiens (Saugeen Shores, Arran-Elderslie, Chatsworth, Georgian Bluffs, and Northern Bruce Peninsula)
  • Robyn Garvey (West Grey, Hanover, Grey Highlands, and Southgate)

The board also benefits from the crucial insights of two student trustees: Samantha Kim of Sacred Heart High School in Walkerton, and Michelle McFadyen of St. Mary’s High School in Owen Sound, who provide essential student perspectives to all discussions.

United under this leadership, the board will continue its mission to foster a vibrant and inclusive Catholic education system, nurturing each student in body, mind, and spirit.
