Sean Poisson won $2,809 in Wednesday's Catch the Ace draw. He chose Envelope No. 10, revealing the Jack of Diamonds, so the Ace of Spades remains hidden once again. The jackpot would have been $48,370, which is amazing, and we thank everyone who bought tickets this past week! Next week’s estimated jackpot should be over $52,000, so be sure to get your tickets and have a chance to win while giving back to our community.

At the Saturday Meat Draw, Scott Allen was a triple-dipper, and Mikahyla Bowes was a double-dipper. Dave MacKay won the 50/50 draw and took home $160. We are all set for the Mega Meat Draw this Saturday, with music by Sweet Light Crude, and rumour has it there will be 18 turkeys to be won, as well as some other meat prizes. Food will be available as well - we will have Nachos and Wings and Fries to snack on while you keep an eye on your tickets for each draw.

This past Sunday, despite some heavy snow, Branch 183 hosted nearly 100 veterans, spouses, family and caregivers at our Veterans Christmas Dinner. We thank everyone who attended, including District C Commander Dennis Schmidt and Zone C1 Commander Jon Corbett, and Santa as well. Thanks to Kevin Larson who gave an interesting talk and slideshow, and to all the volunteers who gave their time to make this event happen, including the wonderful dinner. Special thanks to Dave Carson, our Veteran Services Officer, for taking the lead on this event. We were able to take a great photo of all the veterans in attendance. If you took a photo with the backdrop, but didn't get an E-mail with the link to the photos, please message us and we can get yours to you.

Just a reminder, we are still collecting unique and often-overlooked items for the Kincardine Food Bank. The community response has been amazing, and we have gathered up all your donations and done a drop-off this week. We are still collecting items, and we are focusing on these 10 items that are always in need: feminine hygiene products, coffee/tea, diapers/pull-ups, rice, baby wipes, peanut butter, laundry soap/pods, dried pasta, dish soap, and pasta sauce (meatless). You can drop off your items in the big box in our Legion Hall Lobby as you attend many of our weekly events, such as Bingo, Meat Draws, Darts, and Trivia. Thank you for your support!

Santa hats and festive apparel are encouraged at Friday’s Trivia Night, and food will be available for purchase.

Chili is on the menu for the Dec.18 Bingo Night, and there will be a $1,200 jackpot that night, for the final Bingo of 2025. This is a good time to thank all of our volunteers who work hard each week making these Bingo Nights such a success, and we hope you take a small rest and are back to help us in 2026!

Members, please take note that membership rates will increase Jan. 1, 2026, to $65 (except for veterans). So it’s best to renew for 2026 soon, so you can renew at the $60 rate. You can renew on-line or at the Legion Bar.

Speaking of 2026, Branch 183’s New Year’s Day Levee is happening Jan. 1, 2026, with the doors opening at 12 p.m., and toasts at 1 p.m., followed by a light lunch (by donation).
