Taser used to take knife-wielding individual into custody
(HURON EAST, ON) - The Huron County OPP has charged an individual, following an incident in the Town of Seaforth.
Sunday, Dec. 7, just after 3 p.m., Huron OPP officers were contacted about an individual who was reportedly walking in Seaforth swinging a knife. Police located the suspect, who proceeded to confront the officers with a knife. Officers used a conducted energy weapon to safely control the suspect, who was taken into custody.
Amber COLEMAN, 33, of Goderich has been charged with:
- Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order - (six counts)
- Fail to Comply with Probation - (six counts)
- Fail to Comply with Release Order
The accused was processed, held for a bail hearing, and remanded into custody. The accused has a later court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
