South Bruce OPP report domestic violence; and officers assaulted
ARREST MADE IN INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE INCIDENT

(HURON-KINLOSS, ON) - Dec. 10, the South Bruce OPP received a report of intimate partner violence in Lucknow.

The initial report was a matter of a child custody dispute; however, discussion with the involved parties led to the discovery of several Criminal Code offences.

As a result of the investigation, a 22-year-old resident of Huron-Kinloss has been charged with:
 
  • Assault cause bodily harm, CC 267(c)
  • Assault, CC 266
  • Mischief, CC 430(1)(a)
  • Fail to comply with release order, CC 145(5)(a) - three counts

The accused was held for a bail hearing, Dec. 11, and subsequently remanded into custody.

CHARGES LAID AFTER OFFICERS ASSAULTED

(BROCKTON, ON) - Dec. 15, at 8:39 p.m., the South Bruce OPP responded to a family dispute along Orange Street in the Municipality of Brockton.

Officers attended the scene to discover the subject of the complaint had fled behind the residence. When officers approached the individual, that person became assaultive toward police before being taken into custody.

A 34-year-old resident of Brockton was charged with:
 
  • Assault peace officer, CC 270(1)(a) - three counts
  • Breach of recognizance, CC 811 - three counts

The accused is set to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, Walkerton, Jan. 28, 2026, to answer to the charges.
