Congratulations to the Lucknow and District Co-op on its annual meeting held recently. The food was enjoyed by the great crowd. Everyone appreciated the special presentation by the folks at CKNX which is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year.

 

Heather and Sam Finnie hosted the January card/games party Friday evening. It was a fun time of getting together. Marilyn and Don Reid will host the February gathering.

 

The Ripley and District Agricultural Society annual meeting was held recently. Brian Reid will continue to be president. Becca and Thomas Farrell gave a special presentation on the First Impressions program in which the society participated.

 

The Ripley and District Horticultural Society annual meeting was held last Wednesday. Ann Finlayson is the president and Mary Rose Walden is the treasurer.

 

June and Earl Elliott of RVilla were pleased to attend the seventh birthday party for their great-grandson, Elijah Nahwegahbow, at the home of Joyce and John Farrell. A good time was had by all who attended, including his Elijah's great-aunt, Evelyn of Kitchener.

 

Congratulations to Helen Vanderglas who is celebrating a special birthday this week. Friends from the Ripley and District Walking Program, the Ripley VON SMART Program, and neighbours gathered at Mary Anne Kukoly's home, Thursday, to extend their best wishes.

 

Friday, friends of Fran Farrell gathered at Mary Anne's for a potluck lunch, as a belated birthday gathering. There was a lot of good food, good fun and, of course, cake.

 

Fran and Jim visited recently with Jan and Simon Logtenberg and Bren and Harvey DeLeuuw. Sunday, they went to the home of Lillian and Derk Logtenberg in Goderich. Also visiting, were Kay and Jerry Logtenberg, and Agnes and Ken Logtenberg.

 

Ladies and their fellows, too, are reminded of the next Women's Institute meeting Feb. 3.

 

And remember the Alzheimer Tea at RVilla, Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 27. It will be good to help a worthy cause.
