Highways remain closed Tuesday, Silver Stick tournament postponed, due to snowstorm
The South Bruce OPP has closed Bruce County Road 23 (B-line), from Lorne Beach Road to Bruce County Road 15, as of 2 a.m. Monday, due to high wind and blowing and drifting snow making the road impassable.
Highway 21, from Port Elgin to Goderich, remains closed, as do Highway 9, from Kincardine to Walkerton, and Bruce County Road 1, from Highway 9 to Lucknow, due to poor driving conditions.
Bruce County Road 7 is also closed, from Bruce County Road 86 to Highway 9.
For those who decide to travel, keep your headlights and tail-lights on and clear of snow and do not drive on a closed road.
Remember to keep your speed down. “If you see snow, go slow.”

Meanwhile, also due to the ongoing snowstorm, the Kincardine Regional Silver Stick committee has made the decision to postpone the remainder of the tournament. The committee is working with Silver Stick International to find alternative methods and will be in touch with the remaining teams as soon as possible.
The tournament began Saturday at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine, as well as the arenas in Ripley and Tiverton, and continued through Sunday and Monday, with the championship finals scheduled for Tuesday.
The blizzard conditions are expected to continue through to Tuesday afternoon.
