Highway 21, Kincardine to Port Elgin, re-opened Friday morning
Highway 21, from Kincardine to Port Elgin, has been re-opened.
The South Bruce OPP reports that as of 3:30 a.m., Friday (Jan. 2), this section of the highway is now open. However, Highway 21, from Kincardine to Amberley, remains closed while snow-removal equipment is on-scene working to re-open the road.
Bruce County Road 7, from Ripley to Highway 9, also remains closed, with heavy snow-removal machinery on-site.
Originally, these roads were closed when a major snowstorm hit Monday afternoon (Dec. 29). They were re-opened briefly Tuesday and early Wednesday, but closed again Wednesday night due to blowing and drifting snow, and poor driving conditions.
For those who decide to travel, keep your headlights and tail-lights on and clear of snow and do not drive on a closed road.
Remember to keep your speed down. “If you see snow, go slow.”

The cold and snow are expected continue through to the weekend.
