Second annual Polar Plunge slated for March 6 in Kincardine
The second annual Polar Plunge, in support of Special Olympics Ontario, will be held Friday, March 6, in the parking lot at UBC Local 2222, 385 Queen Street, Kincardine.
Last year's event saw 17 brave souls jump into a tank of icy water, raising funds for Special Olympics athletes. The $5,000 fund-raising goal was surpassed, with a total of $6,000 raised. This year's goal is $10,000.
The 2026 theme is "Superheroes and Villains," and everyone is welcome to suit up and join the other participants who are "Freezin' for a Reason."
The event begins with registration at 6 p.m., followed by the plunge at 7 p.m. There will be refreshments on-site.
Current sponsors include UBC Local 2222, NPX, Elliott Construction and the South Bruce OPP.
