Kincardine Reunion 2028 committee unveils official slogan: "Leading Us Home"

The organizing committee for the 2028 Kincardine Reunion is proud to officially unveil the winning reunion slogan, "Leading Us Home," along with the newly-released reunion logos that will be used throughout the lead-up to the celebration, Aug. 3-7, 2028.

Payton Dunlop had the winning slogan submission with "Leading Us Home."

"It's meant to represent how the reunion brings friends and family back to Kincardine for a weekend filled with memories," said Payton. "As with the Saturday Night Pipe Band Parades, the pipers lead a pack of people as far as the eye can see through our historic downtown.”

With more than 125 slogans submitted, it was a tough job for the committee to narrow it down to just one.

"Leading Us Home" captures the heart of Kincardine — a place that continues to draw people back no matter how far they roam. Inspired by the iconic Kincardine Lighthouse, Lake Huron sunsets, the familiar sound of the pipes, and the enduring spirit of a small lakeside town, the slogan reflects the shared pull that brings generations home to reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate.

“This slogan speaks to more than a place — it reflects a feeling,” said reunion chairperson Tracy Primeau. “For many, Kincardine has always been a guiding light. No matter where life has taken us, something here continues to lead us home.”

The logos visually reinforce this message, incorporating familiar coastal imagery and community symbolism that honour Kincardine’s past while looking ahead to a memorable reunion in 2028. These logos will appear across reunion communications, merchandise, digital platforms, and promotional materials leading up to the reunion.

The Kincardine Reunion, held every 10 years beginning in 1907, brings together former residents, families, and friends from near and far, to celebrate shared roots, life-long connections, and community pride.

Community members are encouraged to follow reunion updates, share the slogan and logos, and help spread the excitement as planning continues toward 2028.
