Huron County OPP report sexual assault charges; and child-luring charges

GODERICH RESIDENT FACES SEXUAL ASSAULT CHARGES

(GODERICH, ON) - The Huron County OPP Crime Unit investigated a report of a sexual assault in the Town of Goderich in November, 2025.

Over the course of the police investigation, the suspected was identified, and arrested Feb. 5, 2026.

Donald CARRICK, 62, of Goderich has been charged with:
 

• Kidnapping
• Sexual Assault

The accused was processed at the Huron OPP detachment, held for a bail hearing, and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich, March 9.

CHARGES LAID IN CHILD-LURING INVESTIGATION

(HURON COUNTY, ON) - The Huron County OPP Crime Unit has charged a Zorra Township resident with several criminal offences as part of an ongoing child-luring investigation that commenced in 2025.

The Huron County OPP commenced an investigation in December of 2025, following a report of an individual claiming to be 17 years of age communicating with a 14-year-old victim using a social media site. During the investigation, police discovered that the victim was sexually assaulted by the suspect, who in fact was 22 years of age.

As a result of the investigation, police identified the adult suspect, who was subsequently arrested Jan. 28, 2026, and charged with a total of seven criminal offences.

Logen HENZER, 22, of Zorra Township, was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
 

• Sexual Assault on a Person under 16 years of age - (two counts)
• Sexual Interference - (two counts)
• Luring a Person Under 18 years of age by means of Telecommunication
• Luring a Person Under 16 years of age by means of Telecommunication
• Invitation to Sexual Touching under 16 years of age

The accused was held for a bail hearing and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.

This investigation is ongoing, and investigators suspect there may be other incidents involving the accused. An on-line username utilized by the accused, was "farmboy03."
