South Bruce OPP remind public to be safe on icy lakes and rivers
(KINCARDINE, ON) - It might feel like spring, but changing temperatures bring new dangers. Ice on lakes and rivers is thinning quickly, even when it looks solid.
The South Bruce OPP is urging the public to avoid walking onto frozen waterways.
If you're near the shoreline, keep a safe distance away, and keep children and pets close. Falling through the ice is deadly and puts not only you but first-responders at risk as well.
Your safety is our priority. Please stay alert and remember, no ice is safe ice!
